View from the choir

I am a Catholic layperson and Secular Franciscan with a sense of humor. After years in the back pew watching, I have moved into the choir. It's nice to see faces instead of the backs of heads. But I still maintain God has a sense of humor - and that we are created in God's image.

Liturgy as poetry

"The liturgy is a poem celebrated by the priests."

- Hugo Ball, Catholic Dada Catholic (written in his diary before moving from Dada to Catholic again)

Hmmm.

Liturgy as a poem?

As a drama?

As a song?

As a dance?

Just some nascent morning ruminations ....

I think there is a lot of poetry in the liturgy. (Even more when we get to sing beautiful songs!)
