View from the choir
I am a Catholic layperson and Secular Franciscan with a sense of humor. After years in the back pew watching, I have moved into the choir. It's nice to see faces instead of the backs of heads. But I still maintain God has a sense of humor - and that we are created in God's image.

I wonder if it's even real and not photoshopped. She has a lectern, she can just have a paper with notes there.
I was really wondering, when I saw political cartoons on the right on this, what the motivation was. What's the issue? Is it just too inelegant, too geeky, too strong a reminder that she's from a social class that usually can't afford teleprompters -- what? (I also put notes on my hand sometimes. It's an engineer thing, at least for me.) And why does it even register, when we have prominent political figures promoting abortion and other serious ills?
It's on videotape, too.
I'd still vote for her over Obama; this just adds fuel to the anti-Palin fire, though.

She did not use the "crib notes" during her speech. She used them when answering a question concerning her core beliefs. She needs "crib notes" to remember what her core beliefs were? Liberals, like me, are not taking her to task, we are laughing at things like this.
I saw her speak in Omaha shortly before the election. I liked her energy and passion, but her speech gave me the impression that she's sometimes "reaching" intellectually.
