View from the choir

I am a Catholic layperson and Secular Franciscan with a sense of humor. After years in the back pew watching, I have moved into the choir. It's nice to see faces instead of the backs of heads. But I still maintain God has a sense of humor - and that we are created in God's image.

"Fatherless" by Brain Gail: Worth reading!

I just finished reading Fatherless by Brian Gail. I'd actually started reading it months ago, but only now just found the time to finish it.

It was a good read. The plot flowed along well; the characters were pretty much believable.

I particularly like the homily that ended it: Would that I'd hear something like that in a church today! I'm tempted to give the book as a gift to some priest friends!

I know Gail has written a sequel, Motherless. I will look for that one.

As for Fatherless: I recommend it.
