View from the choir

I am a Catholic layperson and Secular Franciscan with a sense of humor. After years in the back pew watching, I have moved into the choir. It's nice to see faces instead of the backs of heads. But I still maintain God has a sense of humor - and that we are created in God's image.

Secular Franciscan Introduction

The SFOs up in Ontario came up with interesting background video on the Secular Franciscans.

You have no idea how you're tempting me to try it again. I suspected I wasn't ready the first time, even after thinking / reading / praying on it for 10 years, because I wasn't faithful to daily praying. That I should wait was confirmed by my first two fraternity meetings wherein there was a huge internal fraternity animosity brewing and by the second meeting, there was outright red-faced anger and whisperings. There is another fraternity around, believe it or not, but I knew my Pastor goes to that one so I held off. Hence, while trying to rope myself into greater prayer discipline, I've gone to the "school of the fool" privately. If I am supposed to, and I hope so, someday I will have brothers and sisters.

Also, as I read and loved the poem here by Sr. Madeleva, I wondered how I could've lived this long without hearing of her. Then I realized I'd read some of her poems and had even linked to them along with others via View From the Core's Sunday Poetry Series!

Overall, it is amazing how the Master was the one Who thirsted so grievously, yet it is we who always receive water from Him. And you yourself have eased my heart. I hope many will fall in love with the Poverello and his way.

How sad. Is there another faternity in your area? Or perhaps has the leadership/make-up of that fraternity changed since you were there? SWould it be so bad to bei in the one with your pastor?

I will pray for you. Please pray for me as I being formation September 11.

Oh, I am so excited for you! I'll be praying on Sept. 11.

As for the rest, well --I'll certainly be thinking on that! Thank you. :-)
