Dave Brubeck - Take Five - 1966
Ah, now this is the kind of jazz I like (and he's a good Catholic lad, too!).
I am a Catholic layperson and Secular Franciscan with a sense of humor. After years in the back pew watching, I have moved into the choir. It's nice to see faces instead of the backs of heads. But I still maintain God has a sense of humor - and that we are created in God's image.

Lee, you and I may be at opposite ends of the political spectrum but at the same spot as relates to modern jazz. I think I first heard Dave Brubeck live at Eastman Theater in the late 50s or very early 60s. Rochester was a great city for jazz when I was in my late teens and early twenties.
I suspect it depends on the issue. For example, I'm consistent life - opposed to abortion - unjust war - the death penalty - euthanasia. Where do you stand on those?
