View from the choir

I am a Catholic layperson and Secular Franciscan with a sense of humor. After years in the back pew watching, I have moved into the choir. It's nice to see faces instead of the backs of heads. But I still maintain God has a sense of humor - and that we are created in God's image.

Planned Parenthood "promotes" killing pro-lifers!

Okay, the headline sensationalizes it, but this cartoon allegedly depicts the killing of pro-lifers (and treats it as a positive thing).

I did go to the site and saw the cartoon promoted, but I was unable to get into the cartoon to see it. Maybe there was too much traffic, or perhaps they’d gotten complaints and blocked it.

A few minutes later when I tried again, it was gone! Hmmm.

The Dawn Patrol - Dawn Eden did get some of the images, though. (Good work!)

Planned Parenthood Abortion Video Backs Violence Against Pro-Lifers

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- An online cartoon video sponsored by a Planned Parenthood affiliate in California is drawing sharp criticism because it advocates violence against pro-life advocates. The video is sponsored by Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (http://www.ppgg.org/), the abortion business that distributed the dangerous abortion pill to teenager Holly Patterson -- ultimately killing her.

The PPGG video features a cartoon superhero who travels the globe to promote abortion and oppose abstinence education.

Music reminiscent of doomsday booming introduces the cartoon and Planned Parenthood’s self-described mission. An African-American woman dressed as a superhero begins her journey in California promoting contraception and birth control.
She tells viewers that pro-life people often protest outside Planned Parenthood and claims they "can sometimes become unruly."

“But mostly, I just wish they would disappear," the character says.

Next, the "Superhero for Choice" shoots each protester with a gun that envelopes the pro-life person in a condom. The condoms explode and the protesters die.

The abortion activist cartoon character happily explains that, with the death of the protesters, people can now visit the abortion business "without intimidation or violence."
At the end of the video, during the rolling of the credits, a pro-life person is decapitated.

Doug Scott, president of Life Decisions International, a pro-life group that boycotts businesses which contribute to Planned Parenthood, calls the video "absolutely outrageous."

"It sends a message to teenagers that it is acceptable to eliminate those who disagree," he says of the killing of the pro-life people.

Jim Sedlak of STOPP International, a group that monitors Planned Parenthood, called for the abortion business to fire any staff members and dismiss any volunteers responsible for the making of the video because of its violent content.

Sedlak called on Planned Parenthood "issue a public apology without delay to pro-life Christians everywhere for inciting violence against them."

The superhero also travels to Washington and tosses a pro-life lawmaker into a stew pot. Shedding his suit, he emerges naked from the kettle, served on a silver platter, announcing that he “no longer has the misinformed stench of conservatism."

Planned Parenthood Golden Gate did not return a LifeNews.com request for comment.

This is ironic, as it's 'pro-lifers' who actually kill people on the other side of the fence.

'Pro-life' is such a mis-leading term when used by violent people.

All told, 27 killings have been linked to self proclaimed pro-lifers - and none since the late 1990s.

What they did was wrong, and the pro-life movement has rejected these killers and their tactics.

There regularly appear reports of pro-choicers and abortionists committing acts of violence and causing deaths - and that's not including what's being done to the babies.

"27 killings have been linked to self proclaimed pro-lifers"

Ooh, yeah, I was really off the mark there, eh?

"the pro-life movement has immediately and clearly rejected the killers and their methods."

I fail to see the relevance of this. The MOTIVE for the killings was the pro-life doctrine and people completely carried away with that doctrine.

My statement was merely that "pro-life" is a mis-nomer when used by peolpe who would invoke this kind of violence to achieve it's ends.

Your defensiveness indicates some discomfort with that statement. How sad.

Actually, I misspoke (that’s what I get for trying to write in a hurry).

It was not 27 killings that self-proclaimed pro-lifer’s were guilty of, it was 27 incidents of deadly and extreme crimes against persons (murder, manslaughter, infanticide, attempted murder and manslaughter, kidnapping, torture, rape, incest, sexual crimes against children, mayhem and malicious wounding.)

Seven of those incidents involved killings, the last in 1998.

That’s as opposed to 469 such incidents committed by pro-choicers.

Between 1972 and 2004, HLI estimates there have been 189 killings (murder, manslaughter, homicide) committed by pro-abortionists and for which charges were brought by authorities.

That’s 189 vs 7.

ny2la - did you read my comments?

There have been only 7 killings by people claiming to be pro-life - and they are not pro-life - and none since 1998.

Seven is too many - i agree. That's why the pro-life movement disavows any connection with htese people.

But note that the Pro-choice side has been linked to 189 killings since 1972.

ny2la - here's a few examples:

In 1998, pro-abortionist Byron Looper, a county property assessor, was running for office against pro-life state Senator Tommy Burks. Looper shot Burks in the left eye with a heavy-caliber pistol near a pumpkin patch where Burks planned to take schoolchildren on a hayride that day, then boasted to his friends "I did it, man, I did it! I killed that dude!"

In 1993, Huntsville, Alabama pro-abortion activist Eileen Orstein Janezic murdered 51-year old pro-life activist minister and radio talk show host Jerry Simon. After shooting Simon through a window of his home, she held police at bay with a pistol for six hours while spouting quotes out of Anton LaVey's "Satanic Bible."

In 1998 Jackson, Mississippi abortionist Malachi Dehenre, primary abortionist at the New Women's Clinic abortion clinic, murdered his wife, Nyesha, who worked with him.

In 1998, a jury found pro-abortionist Alfred E. Smith guilty of murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend Deena Moody. Smith killed Deena because she refused to abort their preborn child.

In 1994, a jury convicted Los Angeles abortionist Alicia Ruiz Hanna of murder after Angela Sanchez, a 27-year-old mother of four, died at her Santa Ana abortion clinic. The abortionist tried to stuff Angela's body into the trunk of her car in full view of her children, who were watching from the waiting room.

In 1989, a judge sentenced Los Angeles abortionist Milos Klvana to 53 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of murdering eight newborn babies.

In 1983, El Paso abortionist Raymond Showery murdered a five-pound viable baby who survived one of his third-trimester abortions, and was later charged with manslaughter after botching an abortion that killed Mickey Apodaca.

In 1997, 38-year old Kevin Robinson murdered 15-year-old Daphne Sulk because he had gotten her pregnant, and she refused to get an abortion to cover up his child molestation.
